Sony VAIO FW Review
Sony’s VAIO FW series are all actually nice-looking laptops – they suffer more than a small resemblance to the recent aluminum MacBook lineup and exert the same Intel Centrino two CPUs. That’s where the similarities end though. This laptop has a 16.4″ LCD in the 16:10 widescreen format and is glaringly built for entertainment, and more explicitly watching movies.
Our audit poll paged FW-270j came with a Blu-Ray actor, a reasonably quick 2.26GHz Core two Duo (P8400) CPU, integrated Intel graphics, 4GB of DDR2 RAM and lots of ugly stickers. Sure, stickers can be withdrawn, but the observation that Sony decided to paste a “Full HD 1080p” on it is more than a small misleading, as the screen resolution is 1600×900.
Once we obtained across the sticker frustration, the FW turned out to be a very nice experience. The keyboard and trackpad combination has all the qualities we expect from a VAIO.
It also has a set of multimedia buttons, which also supply several additional functionality with Sony’s proprietary media software, must you decide to exert it.
