Ramchand Pakistani is drawn from from a factual article in relative to the unintentional traversing of the Pakistan-Indian boundary throughout a time span of farthest, war-like stress between the two nations by two constituents of a Pakistani Hindu family belonging to the ‘untouchable’ caste, and the exceptional penalties of this accidental activity upon the inhabits of a woman, a man, and their son.

The singular topic of the movie is how a progeny from Pakistan elderly eight years discovers to contend with the trauma of compelled parting from his mother while being held detainee, along with his dad in the prison of a homeland i.e. India, which is hostile to his own, while on the opposite edge of the boundary, the wife-mother, shocked by their rapid disappearance builds a new section of her life, by her solitary labour for sheer survival.

The movie depicts the inhabits of a family that is at the base of a discriminatory devout ladder and an insensitive communal scheme, which is regardless tolerant, inclusive and pluralist. The irony is aggregated by the detail that such a family becomes hostage to the acrimonious political connection between two neighbor-states ready on the brink of war.

Ramchand Pakistani is the directorial debut for Pakistani Lady, Mehreen Jabbar, who has administered numerous accolade triumphant TV performances in Pakistan before this venture.
